On April 1, 2006 the Mineral County Sheriff’s Department assumed the
responsibilities of the Home Incarceration Program.  Deputy First Class Roger
Reall, a 6 year veteran of the department is the deputy in charge of our
program.  Home Incarceration is used as a means of alternative sentencing to
help alleviate the cost of housing inmates in our regional jail system.  Those
on Home Incarceration wear an ankle bracelet, which monitors their
movements electronically.  The ankle bracelet emits a signal, which is
transmitted through the offender’s phone line to a central computer system 24
hours a day.  While on Home Confinement a persons activities are restricted to
the home except for going to work, school and medical appointments which
all must be approved in advance.  Those on Home Incarceration are not
permitted to consume alcohol.

Violations of the Home Incarceration Program can be reported to the Mineral
County Sheriff’s Department at 304-788-0441.
